Physiotherapists
Gillian Dueza:
Gillian has over 18 years experience as a physiotherapist and took over as the sole owner of the Pro-Therapy business in May 2009. She has worked in private practice for the majority of her career and has been at Pro-Therapy for 13 years. She has a particular interest in spinal conditions and sporting injuries. Prior to motherhood she was the physiotherapist for the Randwick Netball Association, and had played State League netball for Randwick for 6 years. She also travelled to national championships with a NSW men’s U21 netball team. For four years Gillian wrote for the monthly publication of “The Beast”. Link to The Beast magazine. She welcomed her second child into the world in June 2010 and is now back at work part-time, returning to hands-on physiotherapy and managing the business.
Maria Anagnostou:
Maria has been at Pro-Therapy for nearly five years, and in private practice for six, having first completed a Health Science and then Physiotherapy degree. She did her physiotherapy training in Adelaide and has a keen interest in Pilates and the rehabilitation of injured hips. Maria has worked with the national women’s basketball team, as well as state soccer, waterpolo and netball teams back in South Australia. She keeps up-to-date with what is happening in physiotherapy research and regularly attends continuing education courses. Physiotherapists from Adelaide have a good reputation for being well-trained clinicians, and Maria is a great example of that. Maria has a professional and caring nature and is a very popular and valued staff member.
Andrew Preston:
After studying for nearly seven years Andrew joined the Pro-Therapy team at the beginning of 2012 literally bursting to get started in his chosen profession. Originally from Wagga Wagga Andrew moved to the Gold Coast and completed a Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) and a Bachelor of Exercise at Griffith University. Not satisfied with those impressive qualifications he then moved to Sydney where he completed, with an above-distinction average, his Masters of Physiotherapy at Sydney University. Andrew has had work experience with the NSW Premier League Soccer Team, Parramatta FC, and having had two knee reconstructions himself, understands the value of good rehabilitation. He has a passion for sport, plays golf with a handicap of 10 and luckily for us now calls Bondi home.
Jaclyn Switzer:
Jaclyn started at Pro-Therapy in late 2011 taking on a combined role of part-time in the clinic and part-time at Charingfield Hostel, and aged care resdience in Bronte. Jaclyn is from Canada and obtained a Kinesiology Degree at McGill University in Montreal and a Physical Therapy Degree at the University of Alberta. During her time as a physiotherapy student she did an internship at a private practice near Brisbane, and from there decided that Australia was on her “List of Things to Do.” Jaclyn brings to Pro-Therapy over two years experience in private practice having worked in a large Sports Injuries clinic in Calgary before moving to Australia. She is currently loving living in the Eastern Suburbs and is learning a lot about the way we do things “down under”……….both professionally and socially.
Thomas Green:
Thomas is Pro-Therapy’s newest recruit and come to us with a wealth of physiotherapy experience from his English homeland. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist Tom obtained a degree in Sports Conditioning and Coaching and for two years worked with the Gloucester Rugby Club. During this time he worked alongside top level physios and decided that he would return to univeristy in 2007 to get his Physiotherapy Degree. Since graduating Tom has had a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries, working with semi-profesisonal rugby union players and professional motor cross and speedway drivers, treating their many varied and complex injuries. Tom has a lovely manner with his patients and is already proving a popular staff member. If you look closely enough you may even see him running around Coogee Oval on a Saturday afternoon, playing rugby for Randwick.
Podiatry
Mark Mular:
Mark has a Bachelor Degree in Podiatry and has over 13 years experience in private podiatry practice. He has a keen interest in sports podiatry and the biomechanical assessment of foot and gait problems. Mark uses a computerized gait analysis system and is able to both prescribe orthotics and, where needed, make corrections to orthotics. He works closely with the physiotherapists assisting in the treatment of some of their patients with lower limb issues. Mark also treats general foot conditions, nail and skin problems, and diabetic foot problems. Mark is an incredibly talented but humble podiatrist, and all of his clients speak very highly of him. He is a member of the Podiatry Association of Australia and his practice is fully accredited.
Acupuncture
Josie Grech:
Has been practicing Acupuncture since 1989 and has a Bachelor of Health Science degree as well as a Diploma in Remedial massage. Josie treats all manner of ailments and has a special interest in all matters relating to fertility and pregnancy, digestive disorders and sleep disorders. Due to her vibrant personality and caring nature she has a loyal following of clients. Josie runs two acupuncture clinics, one from Maroubra and one from Bondi.
Massage Therapy
Raquel DeSouza:
Raquel has been working at Pro-Therapy for over five years now and has a tremendous following of clients who love her massage techniques. She is a very talented remedial massage therapist and along with relaxation massages and remedial massages she also offers Hot-Stone therapy. Raquel has a Diploma in Remedial Massage and is fully registered with all of the health funds. Her massage sessions are a complete treat. Do your friends and families a favour and buy them a massage gift voucher. They will be thanking you for a long time.
Psychology
Andrew McKinley:
Andrew has been working as a psychologist for the last 10 years and at Pro-Therapy for nearly two years. He is fully registered in NSW and holds membership with the Australian Psychological Society. He is most commonly involved in the treatment of depression and anxiety but continues to work with an incredibly diverse range of people with many other complex issues.
